By Maytal Storm

When life’s stresses pile and crowd in my head
By the water is where I want to be
As deep as one’s thoughts soothing like a bed
A cure that allows my mind to set free
It is the pool where my love thrashes
My heart thumps to the beat of the water
My strokes in sync with the sound of splashes
A love like a mother to a daughter
But water once felt different I’ll note
New to the depthness of the deep dark pool
Not staying afloat like a sinking boat
Never thought I’d thrive in something so cruel
Now I spend long joyful hours with my friend
Sometimes a trauma repairs in the end
