PsychoBabble LLC is officially 5 months old! Here’s what’s new:
-Taysia did an *incredible* job on the website, which went live late last month, and that you are currently using. She was able to create the framework I wanted and even suggested new features I hadn’t thought if. Her info appears on the “Digiality” profile on the “About Us” page. One of the best things about the new site is how easy it is create a profile and post content. We have welcomed Mirabell Rowland as a contributor, and she will share her unique new podcast with us! Still putting out the call for more contributors to lend their unique experiences to this community. This week I’ll be on campus handing out candies with bar codes attached 🙂 GRASSROOTS, BABY!
-The PsychoBabble Podcast is nearly up and running, with new content coming soon! I heard a teaser and I know that students will benefit greatly from it as they navigate their journeys into higher education and the world of work. Jillian’s voice is serene, clear, and welcoming…
-Social media blitz is a go. Currently curating content on Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit. Here are current numbers compared to two months ago:

September 15: 56 followers
November 15: 352 followers (625% growth)
Facebook (@PsychoBabbleLLC):
September 15: 39 followers
November 15: 295 followers (756% growth)
Reddit (r/PsychoBabbleLLC):
September 15: 152 followers
November 15: 652 followers (429% growth)
This was achieved through well-placed adds in selected demographics (on Insta and Facebook- while ads are possible on Reddit, they are insanely unpopular in this non-commercial landscape).
Total cost: about $250
-Using social media to gauge the landscape for offering online psychology classes. There is some interest, with respondents willing to pay somewhere in the area of $20-$50 for a 90-minute class. I’m also really liking the idea of a weekly psychology book club. What kind of infrastructure would be needed to achieve this?
It’s been an absolute blast having meetings with colleagues, former students, and fellow psychology/stats nerds. I can’t tell you how good it feels to build something in accordance with your unique voice and value system. Were it not for having two jobs and a family member in home hospice, I would be doing more of it…
