I established “PsychoBabble” without having a clear, actionable mission. I’ve always reveled in ideas and possibilities, often without a good record of follow-through. According to my preferred style of “learning by doing” (i.e. experiential), I started to create content that felt natural and meaningful. I think I can say that the mission has emerged, and that is “accessible, empirically-supported, and practical educational resources for transitional-age youth.”

In this context, I’m equating “transitional-age youth” to include adolescents and emerging adults, or ages 14-25.

The “accessibility” point is essential. Anyone who’s taken Psych 101 has learned that we tend to see the world through our own perspective and experiences. Some of us have families, schools, and communities that have left us well-prepared for the realities of adult life. But some of us have gaps in certain places and could benefit from a little help from the community.

I understand that there are significant gaps in my own education and life experience, and I would therefore appreciate submissions from others to supplement this content.
Do you have a story or advice to offer? Something that you would want young people to know? Would you let me share it here?
Let’s also make it FUN 🙂
